The Du`a al - Nudbah : Its Authority on the Basisof the Quran and HadithThe Du`a al - Nudbah is one of the most renowned du`as ( supplications ) that is highly recommended to be recited on four eids ( Islamic religious feasts ) , that is , Eid al - Fitr ( The LesserBairam ) , Eid al - Adha ( The Greater Bairam ) , Eid al - Ghadir , and every Friday . This du`a is replete with Twelver Shia's articles offaith on the Divine prophets , and the Infallible Imams , particularly the immediate successorship of Imam Ali b . Abi Talibto the Prophet Muhammad as well as some noble character isticsof Imam Ali . This is , inter alia , followed by du`as ( supplications ) in favor of the 12 th Infallible Imam al - Mahdi [ May Allah hastenhis reappearance ] , expression of his reappearance , removal of the obstacles to his reappearance , leading to termination of all hardships and oppressions by the just Infallible Imam al - Mahdi , and the establishment of world justice under him . The
du`a in question is quoted in the book al - Mazar al - Kabir ofthe 6 th / 12 th century Shi`i scholar Muhammad b . Ja`far al - Ha'iri , commonly known as Ibn al - Mashhadi . It is also quoted in IbnT awus's Misbah al - Za'ir as well as in similar du`a books of otherShi`i ulema . ( 3 )
