probable that Ibn Abi Qurrah did not mention the chain ofrelators . Another probability could be that al - Bazawfari mighthave not mentioned the chain of relators to keep the chain shorter .
Granted that al - Bazawfari
was living near the time of the fourspecial delegates of the 12 th Infallible Imam al - Mahdi andasserted that it was recommended to recite the du`a and issued afatwas on its being recommended ( mustahabb ) , and that suchleading authorities as Ibn al - Mashhhadi and Ibn Tawus followedhim , one can be assured that the du`a was certainly issued by anyof the Ahl al - Bayt . Such a degree of certitude suffices in suchcases where the content of the du`a is in agreement with thehadiths issued by the Ahl al - Bayt . In addition , with a view to therule of tolerance in the arguments of traditions , there remains no doubt in the istihbab ( recommendedness ) of the du`a to be readout .
The aim of developing this book was paying attention to thevery text of the
Du`a al - Nudbah . Likewise , the phrases andsentences of the du`a have been singled out and compared withthe Quran and the hadiths of the Ahl al - Bayt . No doubt , apartfrom the chain of relators , the text is in perfect agreement with the Quran and the hadith . There remains no question that this du`a mirrors the knowledge received from the Ahl al - Bayt ; moreover , the practice of Shi`i dignitaries to regularly read it out over centuries is another proof in support of its authority .
