bn al - Mashhadi and other ulema took this du`a from Muhammadb . Ali b . Abi Qurrah , a trustworthy hadith scholar who wascontemporary with al - Naja shi . It is said that the former took the du`a from Abi Ja`far Muhammad b . Sufyan al - Bazawfari . The oldest source available to us in this regard is Ibnal - Mashhadi
' s Kitab al - Mazar . He was such a dignitary that Sheikhal - H urr al - Amili praised him as " a trustworthy , eruditehadith - relator who had the book of Shadha n b . Jibra'il from whichhe quoted hadiths " ( Amal al - Amil , vol . 2 , p . 235 , item No . 747 ) and elsewhere described him as " erudite and honorable " ( ibid . , p . 252 ) .
According to Ibn al - Mashhadi
' s al - Mazar , Muhammad b . Ali b . Abi Qurrah quoted the du`a from a book of Abi Ja`farMuh ammad b . Husayn b . Sufyan al - Bazawfari . Al - Najashi
in his Rijal praised Muhammad b . Abi Qurrah anddescribed him as " a authority who heard a great number of hadiths and wrote a lot " ( item No . 1066 ) . Likewise , Allama al - Hilli in his Khulasa al - Aqwal described Muhammad b . Abi Qurrah as " authoritative " .

al - Nudbah whose name isknown to us is Abu Ja`far Muhammad b . Husayn b . Sufyanal - Bazawfari who was a teacher of Sheikh al - Mufid and a numberof his contemporaries .
