مع اهتمام العلماء بالمصطلحات في كثير من العلوم فإنهم لم يضعوا معجما خاصا بمصطلحات أصول الفقه ، ولذا فإن هذا الكتاب يسدّ ثغرة هامة في المكتبة الإسلامية .
ولقد اتبع مؤلفه المنهج الاستقرائي في جمعه لمادة هذا الكتاب فتتبع التعريفات المختلفة في عدد غير قليل من المصادر والمراجع والمظانّ الأصولية القديمة والحديثة ، ثم أخذ يوازن فيما بينها ، ثم يصوغها بعبارة سهلة تصل إلى المعنى المطلوب بوضوح .
وأتبع ذلك بضرب الأمثلة ، كيلا تغدو قراءة المعجم مجردة مبتوتة الصلة عن القيم الإسلاميّة .
الكتاب مادة علمية دسمة يدل على جهد طويل بذل فيه .

Despite the great interest in terminology the scholars have taken in the various branches of science , they have never hitherto compiled a concordance of the terminology of jurisprudence fundamentals . Such a book , therefore , fills an important gap in the Islamic library .
The author follows the inductive approach while compiling the material of this book . He has sought the various definitions in numerous resources , references and both modern and old jurisprudential habitats . Then he established comparison among them and formulated these definitions in simple statements getting to the required accurate sense so easily . He then set examples derived from the Islamic and linguistic resources in order not to make reading the concordance abstract and disconnected with religion .
The book is a rich scientific material indicating long and serious afforts exertad for it .
