It is more than 14 centuries that a cruel group of people martyred the grandson of the Holy Prophet ( pbuh ) , Hazrat Imam Husain ( as ) in the deserts of Karbala .
Imam Husain ( as ) along with his family and companions walked the path of love of God Almighty in such a way that it became a movement against those who had created diversions in Islam in the name of the Holy Prophet ( pbuh ) . This great movement recorded an epic soaked in blood in the pages of history and the name of Imam Husain ( as ) became an eternal symbol of independence , freedom and all the heavenly values .
Imam Husains martyrdom brought about a deep change in the Islamic world , whose aftereffects have become more profound and everlasting . Thousands of books and millions of verses have been composed regarding Imam ( as ) and his historical movement till date .
" Aaftab e Mashriqain " is a collection of poetry in Persian language composed in context of Imam Husain ( as ) , Karbala and the effect created by them , by a contemporary Islamicist , an intellectual figure and a great Marja Taqleed of Shias , Ayatollah al Uzma Saafi Gulpaygani .
